TIRA consists of three files;
1.TIRA####.accde : Graphical User Interface (GUI)
2.TIRA_be.accdb : Data Container
3.Dictionary.accdb : User dictionary
TIRA will by default install to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\On Safe Lines QHSE Software\Task Inventory and Risk Assessments.
However, the default installation for Windows XP is likely to be:
C:\Program Files\On Safe Lines QHSE Software\Task Inventory and Risk Assessments
TIRA v8 Installation:
Modern PCs
C:\Program Files (x86)\OSL-TIRA\Data
XP or old 32bit PCs
C:\Program Files\OSL-TIRA\Data
XP Users please note: Our software will also work in Windows XP however, the user will need to perform some one time initial set-up routines which are managed automatically in later operating systems, this routine requires the user to locate files 2 & 3 (see above) using the built-in semi-automated re-linking routine.
It is not unreasonable for users to wish to network TIRA so the multiple users can access the data contained within the back-end file. Other uses may wish to move or install TIRA to a different location other than the default directory. (for example, if their PC has no C:\ drive)
TIRA has several built-in re-linking routines which will help to semi-automatically detect the data files have been moved from where they are expected to be found.
TIP: User can see the current location of you data containing files in the list box labelled 'Current User Table Locations'
The tables held within each of files 2 & 3 are shown in the list box labelled 'Current Table and File Locations'
Option 1. Relink Data Tables Options.
There are two options here User Driven and Automated.
User Driven : This option brings up the file dialog box and asks the user to point to the location of files 2 & 3 (see above)
Relink Quick : This option checks one table in each of file 2 & 3 and if found returns no error, if not found it brings up the file dialog box and asks the user to point to the location of files.
Relink Full : This option checks all tables in each of file 2 & 3 and if found returns no error, if not found it brings up the file dialog box and asks the user to point to the location of files.
Option 2. Reset Default Table Links
Windows Vista, Win 7 & 8: If files 2 & 3 exist in the installation default directory the procedure will attempt to re-link to theses files.

Windows XP: If files 2 & 3 exist in the installation default directory for XP the procedure will attempt to re-link to theses files.

Option 3. Access Linked Table Manager
This options brings up the link table manager. To use the linked table manager;
1.Select the Always prompt for new location check box.
2.Select the check box for the tables whose links you want to change, and then click OK.
3.In the Select New Location of either table in file 2 or 3 from the dialog box (you can only do one table at a time), specify the new location, click Open, and then click OK.
Notes
The Linked Table Manager doesn't move database or table files. For information about moving database or table files to a new location, search Microsoft Windows Help. Once you have moved a database or table, you can use the Linked Table Manager to refresh links.
Option 4. Attempt Manual Path Reset
This option allows the user to simply type the location of files 2 & 3 in the text box. If the files 2 & 3 are where the user specified the program will attempt to relink the data tables. The 'Current User Table Locations' list box will update to show the current location of files 2 & 3.
This option is use for switching between local and network copies of files 2 & 3, or between live and test data. For example you may wish to leave the default installation directory of files 2 & 3 as your live (current) work, you could then copy these files to another directory, lets say C:\TIRA_Testing and then switch back and forth between the two sets of files.

IMPORTANT: The re-linking routine is designed to manage the moving of TIRA's data files. Users should not move the GUI file manually as this will cause window registry entry errors.
When the programme detects the data files have moved or are not where they were expected to be found, it loads the re-linking routine procedure. The re-linking form shows the location where files 2 and 3 were last located and indicates YES or NO as to whether-or-not they have been found.
Where the form indicates that the file or files have not been located, users can highlight one and one only file from the two offered. Once an entry is highlighted, users can select the locate button, this then opens a standard windows file locating form for users to navigate to the new file location. Once the new file is found, clicking on the file will cause the programme to attempt to re-link to the data file. If the re-linking is successful the form will indicate that the file was found. Users can then re-link the second file if necessary.
Network Usage: TIRA has been designed and developed to be multi-user and network efficient. A typical example would be when TIRA's data file TIRA_be is moved onto a network drive to allow the front end to be placed on numerous user's terminals. TIRA always performs best when working on your local computer. However, it is recognised that many users will wish to network TIRA. Users may notice a slower than expected performance when connected over a network depending upon various factors such as the design, configuration, speed, traffic, etc. of your company network.
Caution: If you are in a corporate network environment, you should check with your information technology department to determine whether your company has established guidelines concerning enabling content on Access databases.
