ISO 45001:2018 defines Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle as:
The OH&S management system approach applied in this document is founded on the concept of Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA).
The PDCA concept is an iterative process used by organizations to achieve continual improvement. It can be applied to a management system and to each of its individual elements, as follows:
•Plan: determine and assess OH&S risks, OH&S opportunities and other risks and other opportunities, establish OH&S objectives and processes necessary to deliver results in accordance with the organization’s OH&S policy;
•Do: implement the processes as planned;
•Check: monitor and measure activities and processes with regard to the OH&S policy and OH&S objectives, and report the results;
•Act: take actions to continually improve the OH&S performance to achieve the intended outcomes.
TIRA will meet many of the elements of the PDCA cycle.
TIRA provides guidance for the safety professional and risk assessors from the initial risk assessment planning stage, through to advice on undertaking the risk assessment, documenting the findings and producing reports.
TIRA allows organisations to manage their risk assessments efficiently and effectively by easily guiding the assessor through the whole risk assessment process and then keeping track of who, where, when, and what has been achieved as well as actions and recommendation still outstanding.
TIRA allows instant access to performance and tracking information. All risk assessments can be quickly and easily located and where necessary printed in a professionally designed and standard format.
TIRA has been designed to be modular, in this we mean if you learn how to input records into the DSE module the principles are approximately the same for all the other risk assessment types covered by the application. This will greatly increase the speed at which new users can become accustomed to, and prolific in managing their risk assessment responsibilities via TIRA.
Depending on which version of TIRA you are using it may covers the following elements of Risk Assessment Management;

Each type of risk assessment has its own input screen, and it’s like having 10 programs wrapped up neatly into one.
The risk assessment input screens are logically laid out and then allow all the right questions to be asked and recorded. For DSE, MH, Work Equipment and Workplace risk assessments the questions are preset; however hopefully they are the right questions. Once you input your risk assessment the programme allows you to print the assessment in a professional looking report.
Sample Reports
•Task Inventory
•GRA Actions
•GRA Hazards
•Display Screen Equipment
•Manual Handling
•Work Equipment
•Workplace
•Fire
•PPE
•First Aid
•Hazardous Substances
Each assessment type has the facility to record not only the assessment findings but also any risk assessment briefing required for that specific risk assessment as well as how and when individuals were briefed.
The programme also allows for tracking of remedial action by who, where, when, etc. The reports also have a section for statistical data on risk assessment performance and outstanding actions.
The Task Inventory module can also be use as a master index linking to each risk assessment by the click of a button.
•Build you own question sets (TIRA v3+). Users can now create addendum A & B pages for their risk assessments which allow up to an additional 12 user defined questions to be added
